If you are wondering what’s up with the stats, and who knows what else. I had a bit a of a disaster yesterday. I ran a script that deleted most of the contents of my account directory on both my personal PC and the server.

Everything was backed up and I am working on restoring it to it’s former glory.

Just know this, deleting files recursively on a Linux box, with wildcards, can be extremely dangerous…

If you are looking for good backup software that is free, look no further than Duplicati. It choked when I tried to restore hundreds of thousands of files with one click, but it did well enough that time to get me back up and running, then I just had to do it all again in smaller chunks. But there’s no question it saved my bacon. Duplicati is cross platform and works on Windows, Linux, MacOS and Synology.
